Clients are asked to fill out a Health History/Waiver form before their first session. To save time, you may download, fill out and email us ahead of your appointment time, or arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork (Form download link is at the foot of this page).
Sessions are approximately 55 minutes long. Please keep in mind that appointments may be scheduled back to back, so any latecomers may receive a shorter session.
Pilates is exercise, so wear comfortable workout clothing. There are no shoes in Pilates. Bare feet are preferred (“sticky socks” are permitted). Women should wear fitted pants or shorts and a fitted t-shirt or tank, and men should wear a t-shirt and workout shorts (if baggy please wear bike shorts underneath) or pants.
The beauty of Pilates is that it is designed for everybody, including those with injuries. Please keep in mind that we are not physicians, but we can work around an injury safely while still getting the benefits of the method. We may require a doctor’s note if there is a condition we are not familiar with. Reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
If you are pregnant and have never done Pilates before, we recommend that you wait until you are cleared to exercise after the baby comes. Post-natal Pilates can be really beneficial to the recovery process. However, if you are pregnant and have been practicing Pilates prior to finding us, we do offer pre-natal sessions.
The studio is located inside the Etch Fit Gym in West Reading, PA. We service clients throughout Berks County, including Shillington, Kenhorst, Reading and Wyomissing. Enter the front door of the gym (suite #100), and fill out sign in sheet for Pilates. Ask a front desk member to direct you to the studio, or wait in the waiting area and the teacher will be out to meet you at your appointment time. Pilates clients are asked to sign in at the desk for every session.
You may pay cash, check, or credit card to a member of The Pilates Swan in person before your session. Please keep in mind that the gym does not handle payments or handle any inquires, and any questions should be directed to The Pilates Swan
